Common questions
Money
Will I be charged during the free week?
No. Monthly and annual start with 7 days free. You add a card at the start and Stripe holds it. We never see it. We email you before the free week ends. Cancel in Settings before then and you pay nothing. If you don't cancel, your card is charged for the plan you picked when the free week ends. The 22-week pass is one payment and never renews.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Retest at Week 22. If your Youthspan score hasn't improved and you did the work, you get a full refund.
How is this different from hiring a trainer?
A month of SFY costs less than one session with most trainers. You get the program I've coached for twenty years, every workout written by me, adjusted to your day. What you don't get at this price is me watching your sets.

Getting started
I haven't trained in years. Is this for me?
Yes, if you can get up and down off the floor, even with help from your hands. The Snapshot tells us where you are and the first weeks start there. If a test is beyond you today, skip it. That's data too.
What is a Youthspan score?
Five tests you can do at home: single-leg balance, floor sit-to-stand, dead hang, chair stands, reaction time. We compare your results to age norms and tell you the age your body is performing at. You retest at Week 22 and see what moved.
What equipment do I need?
Minimum: a pair of adjustable dumbbells and a pull-up bar or something to hang from. A gym works too. Tell the app what you have and the sessions use that.
How much time does it take?
Most Optimal days land around 50 minutes. There is also an Efficient tier when the week is tight - shorter sessions that still move the same capacities. Short on sleep or a joint is cranky? Say so and that day's workout can shrink instead of getting skipped.
Is there an app?
It runs in your phone's browser. Add it to your home screen and it works like any app: today's session, tracking, your scores. No download, no app store.
The training
What if I have a bad knee, shoulder, or back?
Tell the app what hurts and the session swaps around it. Derek has spent twenty years training people with old injuries. If something is actually injured, see a professional first; this is not medical advice.
What happens if I miss a week?
You pick up where you left off. The program is 22 weeks of training, not 22 calendar weeks. Nothing resets.
Do I have to eat plant-based?
No. The training is the same either way. The nutrition guidance is plant-first and built around the Daily Five, a short checklist centered on a big salad and a serving of beans. No calorie counting, no logging.
Is this for men or women?
Both. It's for anyone who wants to stay strong, capable and independent for decades. The tests and the program are the same; the loads are yours.
What happens after Week 22?
Retest week. You redo the five tests and see the change. Then you start the next cycle with new numbers. Most people keep going; the program has an end, the practice doesn't.
Derek and the method
Who wrote this?
Derek Tresize. B.S. in Biology, ACE certified, WNBF pro bodybuilder, plant-based for all twenty years of his coaching. Every workout and every demo video is his, filmed in his gym.
Is any of this AI?
The program is Derek's, workout by workout. Software handles the daily adjustments, meal photo feedback, and questions, inside rules Derek set. It can't invent exercises or change the program. Every workout was written by Derek.
