Questions people ask before they start

Is this a template dressed up as a coach?

No. It's one 22-week periodized program that Derek wrote — every block, every progression. It uses a rotating emphasis periodization, which means it rotates what you're trying to progress each training block, and the targets are the capacities we lose fastest as we age: strength, muscle mass, muscle power, cardiovascular endurance, and balance. What changes day to day is the delivery. Tell it your shoulder is cranky and today's pressing gets swapped, not skipped. Tell it you have 25 minutes and you get a real 25-minute session, not a truncated one.

Who actually wrote this?

Derek Tresize — plant-based for all twenty years of his coaching, with a B.S. in Biology, an ACE-CPT, and a WNBF pro bodybuilding card. Every workout in the program is one he wrote, and the exercise demos are him, filmed in his own gym. The app delivers his coaching and adjusts it to your day; it doesn't invent training. There's more about him on the About page.

What happens after Week 22?

Week 22 is retest week: you redo the same five tests you took in the Youthspan Snapshot and see what moved. That's the point of the whole thing — a start line, a finish line, and a number that changed. After that you keep training with the same system on a new cycle. The program has an end; the practice doesn't.

How does the free trial work — will I get charged?

You give a card up front, Stripe holds it, and we never see it. Three days free starting today. Cancel any time from Settings during those three days and you won't be charged at all. If you don't cancel it renews at $29/month or $249/year.

Do I have to eat plant-based?

No. The training is the training either way. But the nutrition side is built plant-first and that's the whole reason it exists — eating for muscle on plants is a different job, and almost nothing else treats it that way. It's the Daily Five: notice what you ate, one big salad, a serving of beans or lentils or tofu, a serving of plants at every meal, and one more that flexes to what you're training for. No gram targets, no weighing, no logging every bite.

How much of this is software and how much is a person?

The training methodology is 100% human-designed. Derek wrote the complete 22-week program in advance — every block, progression, and coaching cue. The software manages daily workout delivery and handles real-time adjustments for your time, equipment, and recovery. For meal photo analysis and conversational Q&A, the app utilizes Google's Gemini AI model. The AI operates strictly within Derek's programmed guardrails and cannot invent exercises, alter program structures, or override your plan.

It says “in active development” — what does that mean for me?

The 22-week program, the workout tracking, the nutrition coaching and the youthspan testing all work today. New pieces ship most weeks and early members' feedback decides which ones. That's the trade: you're early, so some edges are rough and you get a say in what gets built.
